The collection of questions & answers below are provided to help you self-address
various common inquiries or comments posted to us on a regular basis.
What is websitelaunches.com?
websitelaunches.com is a microblog-inspired, custom application created to provide a unique,
highly-niche service to prominently showcase and centralize information focused on B2B or B2C web
site launches (and redesign makeovers) across a diverse array of industries. The idea behind this
concept was to create a dedicated feed highlighting professional web site launches that could and
would be easily accessed by interested parties via today's most popular microblogging tool
to date, Twitter.
How does this web site launches service work?
Easily! If you know of a B2B or a B2C web site that has
recently launched or has been completely made over (re-launched), you can promote it on our feed.
Fill out our simple, step-by-step online submission form to submit your web site launch
information for review and consideration.
If your submission is approved for publication, it will then be automatically posted on
our
@websitelaunches twitter feed
to be shared with the Twittersphere and beyond.
Please see question "Under what circumstances would my submission be rejected?" for
reasons why your submission might be declined.
How do you define a "web site launch?"
As we see it, a professional web site launch is a usually a marketing-driven event whereupon
a company, organization or an individual has either just launched a brand new site or has re-launched
their web site with new features and enhancements. While many sites go live daily, we are most interested
in featuring industry web sites catering specifically to B2B or B2C audiences.
So who exactly cares about web sites that are launching anyways?
You'd be surprised. Almost daily, PR distribution sites showcase countless of press releases on this
topic alone. Every single day, press releases posted on popular news distribution sites like
PRNewswire and
PRWeb
describe new web sites that have just launched into the marketplace or
highlight companies and organizations which have newly re-launched their sites to include new
features and enhancements.
Clearly, marketing departments across the planet feel compelled to communicate
when they've launched a new web site and expend the time, effort, energy and resources to widely broadcast
that news and information across numerous PR, social media and traditional marketing channels.
So to answer the question, then, as to who exactly cares about web sites launching daily across
the Internet ... we would argue that many folks in the business world seemingly do. A targeted,
focused stream of information relevant to web designers, web developers, online marketers, marketing researchers
and industry consultants - for starters - seeking the latest in web site trends and competitive intelligence
immediately comes to mind in so far as highly interested parties for the kind of information our service
amasses and our feed provides.
And let's not forget the bloggers for hundreds of blogs or publications always seeking to highlight or feature
interesting new sites and online services made available to consumers and the general public. They, too, find web
site launch-related information to be of high interest and greatly benefit from the timely and resourcefulness
content such information brings to their attention.
Is this service free?
Yes, at this time of this publishing, this service (presently in beta form)
is free to anyone who submits, shares or promotes web site launch
information. We have identified an advertising monetization model
which we will be implementing in the coming weeks and months.
Stay tuned.
What does "beta" mean?
Why do you have to review each submission manually before posting?
Can't you just automate the service to post as soon as my information is sent?
We receive submissions daily and review all submissions personally for quality, accuracy and relevance.
We check all links and/or URLs submitted in your proposed tweet and make sure the content being
provided in the tweet itself is quality content and is not spam. Automating this process prevents
this kind of human-only quality checking we feel is required for ensuring accurate and relevant
content from our feed(s).
How long after I submit my launch information can I expect to see it posted on your @websitelaunches twitter feed?
If your tweet submission is approved, it will be immediately posted to our
@websitelaunches Twitter feed.
Our review and approval process itself may take 1-3 business days at most.
Under what circumstances would my submission be rejected?
Spam-like tweet submissions are clearly objectionable as are pornographic, obscene
or inappropriate tweet requests. Should your submission be questionable or require more clarification,
it will be declined and you will receive an email notification informing you as such.
Please visit our
Terms of Use policy for more information. Should you wish to re-submit your
information after it's been declined, you will have create an entirely new submission from scratch using
our
"submit your launch" online form.
May I submit information on more than one web site launch?
Yes. Assuming you want to share information about multiple web site launches (perhaps you are a
PR agency or marketing consultant wanting to promote various client web site launch projects
you have participated in or have led), we welcome information on B2B or B2C web site launches of interest.
To submit information on multiple launches, you'll have to submit a form for each unique launch.
Why don't you offer user profiles so we don't have to keep entering the same information per submission?
Presently, we are in open beta release and collecting any and all feedback from users like you.
If the usage of our service increases heavily, we will implement a profile system along with upcoming
development upgrades scheduled to roll out in the next 60-90 days.
How do I advertise on your @websitelaunches twitter feed?
We have identified an advertising monetization model which we will be implementing in the coming weeks
and months. Please stay tuned and check back soon. We will be posting all advertising information,
including rates and instructions, by Q1 2011.
What is a digest?
A "digest" is an e-book compilation of various web site launches per any given industry
that we will have available for sale as digital downloads by end of year 2010. These digests
centralize industry-specific web site launch information to assist marketers, web designers,
bloggers and content developers with relevant research on which sites have launched within a
given time period, providing those who purchase these special reports with unique competitive
intelligence and insight into web site trends currently unfolding in today's fast-paced
digital marketing world.
